Surrounded by the North Sea, at the end of the breakwater in \u00c5krehamn, Mortholmen Herring Salting Plant has played an important role in Norwegian fishing history. In its heyday, the building was bustling with life. Now Captain Sig Hansen himself, better known from the TV-show Deadliest Catch, has restored the building. <\/p>\n

Mortholmen as it appears today provides a unique insight into the rich fishing legacy that has shaped the local community surrounding \u00c5krehamn as well as Norway as a country.<\/p>\n<\/div><\/div><\/div><\/div>
